Use "splits" layout in Kitty This is what I wanted. I sometimes want main pane to be splitted, but neither "fat" nor "tall" allows me to do that. While this adds new "open new window horizontally" shortcuts, the total number of shortcuts remains same as I could successfully eliminated "switch layout" shortcut.
